Description: The Social Security & Disability Section Council along with one of the Minnesota local Social Security Offices is pleased to present a program to answer questions regarding payment processing and other issues. This program hopes to provide a respectful dialogue between the local office and SSD attorneys and representatives through increased understanding of processes.

Social Security trainers will discuss SSA’s eligibility requirements, monthly benefits and how a claimant’s backpay is processed. We will talk about the SSA Field Office and the Payment Center(PC) and how the PC handles attorney fees and other specific workloads.

We will also discuss the specifics of completing an application and common errors committed by claimants and representatives as well as tips on what representatives and claimants can do to prevent delays. They will tell us the most common reasons why payments may be delayed.
SSA’s online services, online applications and the claimants online My Social Security Account will also be covered.
