Recession in Retrospect: Financial Regulation and Consumer Protection Ten Years Since the 2008 Financial Crisis

Description: Ten years since the 2008 Financial Crisis, the Minnesota Law Review seeks to explore the state of financial regulation and consumer protection in America. Incorporating the views of scholars and practicing professionals, the Law Review will evaluate a number of responses to the crisis and consider whether financial regulation and consumer protection have yet gone far enough. The Symposium will feature three panels on the topics of Too Big to Fail, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (the CFPB), and the role of state attorneys general in consumer protection and regulatory enforcement. Each panel will consist of presentations by panelists as well as a question and answer period. In addition to announcing Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York as the Symposium’s keynote speaker, the Law Reviewis proud to announce the following panelists:
